What is the difference between leather pu and pvc
- Jul 23, 2018 -

Raw materials: The main component of pvc is polyvinyl chloride, and other ingredients are added to enhance its heat resistance, toughness and ductility.

Pu Chinese name is polyurethane, using PU resin as raw material,

Features: pvc can be divided into soft pvc and hard pvc, good flexibility, easy to form, not brittle, non-toxic and non-polluting, long storage time.

The performance of pu leather is close to that of natural leather. Some properties even exceed natural leather, which is inseparable from the natural leather. It has the advantages of cheap price, rich color and various patterns. The disadvantage is that it is easy to become hard and brittle.

Differentiating methods:

First, the difference is made on the back side of the fabric. The method is that PVC artificial leather and PU synthetic leather are generally made of cloth base (or knitted fabric base can be seen with the eye).

The second is to use the method of burning and melting to distinguish the method by taking a small piece of fabric on the fire, the leather fabric will not melt, and the PVC artificial leather and PU synthetic leather will melt.

Most people will refer to synthetic leathers other than leather, such as PVC and PU leather, as artificial leather or imitation leather. PVC and PU are all polyvinyl chloride (one of the plastics), but the manufacturing process of these two products is not the same.

In the manufacturing process, the PVC leather is firstly melted into a paste by hot melt, and uniformly coated on the base of the T/C knitted fabric according to the specified thickness, and then foamed in the foaming furnace to make it adaptable. Production of a variety of different products, different requirements of softness, surface treatment at the same time of the release (dyeing, embossing, polishing, matting, grinding and raising, etc., mainly in accordance with specific product requirements).
